UJIA Update: The Jerusalem office is moving and much more!

1.    UJIA Jerusalem Office is Moving!
 
 
The UJIA Jerusalem office will be moving from its current location to
 
Level 4, 37 Pierre Koening St,
Talpiot, Jerusalem.
 
The telephone number will remain the same.
 
The office will be moving over 14th-18th February 2010. Telephone and computer services will be disrupted during this period and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
 
We expect that the office will reopen as normal on Sunday 21st February 2010.

Young Judaea’s new campus on Gad 8, (formerly Ulpan Etzion), Jerusalem
The Fair will also include companies from Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, in conjunction with AACI, Israemploy, Nefesh B'Nefesh, The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, and The Israeli Employment Service, for job seekers (olim, sabras, tourists and students).

Jobs in a wide variety of fields; career counselors, resume writing assistance, information on starting your own business, as well as a job board, and speakers on job hunting.

3.    Important Update: New Registration Dates for Student Authority Benefit
 
There are now set deadlines for registration for the Student Authority (Minhal Hastudentim) assistance.
 
The dates are as follows:
 
Semester 1: Until 15th December
Semester 2: Until 15th June
Summer Semester: Until 15th August
 
 
Those who miss the date will not receive the benefit.
 
It is important to come to the Student Authority prepared with all the relevant information and documentation.
 
 
 
 
 
4.    Memoir Writing Course
 
A LIFE IN WORDS: HOW TO WRITE A MEMOIR
 
A popular five-week, 13-hour memoir writing class given in Jerusalem by New York University Tisch School of the Arts former lecturer and graduate (MFA).
 
Honor someone who has touched your life, document life-changing experiences or travels, or record your family history.
 
Course will include:
1. Lectures emphasizing the structural elements of memoir
2. Writing exercises
3. Discussion of student writing
4. A final 30-minute one-on-one session with the instructor.
 
After the course, each paticipant will have at least one final draft of a personal essay (or chapter), several developed ideas for subsequent essays, and a firm idea of what they will be working on next.
 
Two Classes will be opening at the Merkaz Hammagshimim.
 
Day: Sunday 12:30-3:00 pm (Feb. 15- March 15)
 
Evening: Wednesdays 6:00-8:30 pm (Feb. 17- March 17)

7.    Fundraising Run for Lone Soldiers
 
Join hundreds of dedicated runners on Thursday, March 18th 2010, who come yearly to enjoy the clear air and rich heritage of Jerusalem. This year a distinct group of runners are teaming up with Merkaz Hamagshimim Hadassah and The Michael Levin Memorial Center in a fundraiser for The Solidarity Project for lone soldiers.
Registration for the 18th Jerusalem Half Marathon has already begun.
 
The Jerusalem Half Marathon provides the opportunity to Run 10km or 21km within Jerusalem and this opportunity allows to raise money for a worthy cause while participating in the marathon.
Your donations will help lone soldiers in the IDF by purchasing furniture for their apartments, providing them with important information, sending them fun packages a few times a year and providing assistance at any time necessary.

8.    Middle Management Hospitality Course in Eilat
 
The Eilat campus of the Beer-Sheva University is offering a Middle Management Hospitality Course.
 
The 400 hour course will look into all the elements of Hotel Management and the functioning of all the departments.
 
The course is due to start on March 2nd in Eilat. And classes are expected to be held once/twice a week.
 
All the participants who successfully finalize the course will be employed by "Isrotel Hotels" chain.
